A commercial fire that broke out on Chartiers Avenue Feb. 16 is under investigation by the county fire marshal.
Local resident Marie Otto said she was walking her dog in her neighborhood when she heard “a loud popping noise” and saw smoke rising from behind a commercial building owned by J.V. Chujko, Inc. at 1125 Chartiers Ave. She said she immediately called emergency services and was asked to give a statement to police when they arrived minutes later.
The fire was extinguished with no injuries reported, according to McKees Rocks firefighters.
Allegheny County officials have declined to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.
