McKees Rocks cracks down on collections

-MCKEES ROCKS-

McKees Rocks is looking to recover funds from unpaid sewer accounts totalling more than $1 million.

Council adopted an agreement March 8 enabling Creditech Collection Solutions to issue liens on unpaid accounts that could encourage debtors to pay up. The borough is billed quarterly by ALCOSAN for sewage fees and must recoup expenses from residents. Costs for any unpaid bills are footed by the borough.

In response to declining income, council recently approved a rate increase that took effect January 2022.

Nick Radoycis, councilor and finance committee chair, has frequently pushed for a stronger stance against chronic debtors during recent meetings.
