-HERITAGE VALLEY-

The Heritage Valley Health System has expanded its rehabilitation center in Kennedy through a joint venture with Sewickley-based Encompass Health.

The new facility on the hospital’s fifth floor will function as a satellite of Encompass’s main location in Sewickley and will feature “updated large private rooms, spacious physical therapy gym and dining area for the patients,” according to Suzanne Sakson, director of marketing and communications at Heritage Valley.

A press release issued by both groups touts the renovated suite as a joint success.

“Establishing the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Heritage Valley Kennedy is a natural fit,” said Norm Mitry, president and CEO of Heritage Valley Health System. “It brings much needed services to patients residing in the western and northern communities of Allegheny County. They can now receive this specialized care close to home.”
