After 50 years in the Stowe-Rocks area, PepsiCo Beverages North America’s distribution center in Stowe Township is leaving its location near the McKees Rocks Bridge.

A PepsiCo representative said the move would be made official in November when operations move permanently to Findlay Township. The distribution center’s new site is located on property owned by the Allegheny County Airport Authority at 7050 International Drive.

Recently, a corporate decision merged all Pennsylvania markets into one. While products continue to be bottled and canned in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, more than 10 million cases of Pepsi-brand beverages will move through the new facility annually.

There are 275 employees at the McKees Rocks location, and a company spokesperson said the move didn’t result in any job losses.

In 1965, the North American branches of PepsiCo and Frito-Lay merged, with Quaker Foods joining the company in 2001.
