Students witness mock DUI crash ahead of prom

Students at the Sto-Rox High School got an important lesson outside the classroom on May 4 ahead of prom. A simulated deadly DUI crash featured students from the National Honors Society and was organized by teacher Dawn Marshall, guidance counselor Joe Herzing, with crews from Stowe Township, McKees Rocks Police, McKees Rocks VFD, Stowe Township VFD and Northwest EMS responding to the scene. The sights and sounds of this fatal DUI crash served as a reminder of what can happen to students, their classmates and innocent bystanders when they get behind the wheel after drinking.
