Township secretary tenders resignation

-STOWE-

Stowe Township Secretary Dwight Boddorf tendered his resignation on July 21.

In the email he sent to commissioners explaining his decision, he said he wanted to move to the Butler area to be closer to family. His last day will be Aug. 5.

Boddorf confirmed his resignation and declined to comment further.

“I liked Dwight and enjoyed working with him,” said Cheryl McDermott, commissioner.

“I feel like it’s going to be a little bit of a loss to us because he was quite intelligent in a lot of areas.”

As of publication time, a replacement had not been named.

Stowe Township hired Boddorf in November 2021.

His resignation makes three for the township’s municipal management team since the start of the year.

Code Enforcement Officer Nick Leffakis left July 1 citing staffing issues and what he calls “over-involvement” from a commissioner. Leffakis’ predecessor Harry Serretti stepped away in January, citing “safety concerns.”
