TREE LIGHTING | Holiday celebrations for your hometown

Carnegie: Tree lighting is set for Friday, Dec. 2 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Carnegie Borough Building, 1 Veterans Way. A holiday tree will be lit, carolers will sing, hot chocolate will be available and children will have the opportunity to write a letter to Santa.


Robinson: Christmas light-up night is set for Friday, Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Clever Park. Santa and Mrs. Forest Grove Fire Company will squire Santa and the Mrs. around on a decorated fire truck. Holiday lights and a fireworks show are included.


Coraopolis: A Cookie Walk is set for Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at VFW 402 at 412 Mulberry Street. This event includes cookies at $10 a dozen or 60 cookies at $40, there will also be an opportunity to write letters to Santa and other activities for kids. Free holiday photos will be available and an appearance from Santa Claus is likely.

Crafton: The Celebration of Lights is set for Saturday, Dec. 3 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Crafton Park. Enjoy lights, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a chance to meet a Frozen princess and more.


McKees Rocks: Focus on Renewal presents a Kwanzaa Celebration, Friday, Dec. 9, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Father Ryan Arts Center, 420 Chartiers Ave. Event includes dance performances, community meal, presentation of Kwanzaa principles and various vendors. Free tickets are available through Eventbrite.


Neville Island: Community Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Neville Fire Department parking lot/Memorial Park. There will be a D.J. playing music, hot coffee and hot cocoa, face painting and a balloon artist. The first 50 children under age 10 will receive a small gift. This will also be the kick-off for the Neville Green Luminaria Display.
