County law enforcement are investigating a Stowe convenience store after a resident found Viagra pills inside a grocery bag among some snack items bought by her 14-year-old daughter.

The child’s mother, Ebony Randolph, said her daughter came home from Galaxy Market in Stowe on Oct. 21, and asked her to identify three blue pills that she had not requested.

Randolph looked up the imprint code and discovered they were prescription-only sexual stimulants.

“[My children] are not allowed in that store no more because I don’t know what goes on there,” Randolph said.

Randolph said she went to the store to inquire and was told by an employee theywere intended for another customer. At her request, the employee showed her the bottle containing the remaining pills.

“I really didn’t like the nonchalant-ness of the worker,” Randolph said.

Randolph called Stowe’s police department, who came into the store and confiscated the pills.

The department declined to provide reports or disclose further details, citing an open investigation into the incident launched by Allegheny County police.

The owner of the business declined to share his name or comment on the incident, and asked Gazette 2.0’s reporter to leave the store when he attempted to investigate the allegations.

Randolph said she was deeply troubled by the incident because she has two younger children who could have mistakenly swallowed the pills.

“I really don’t want to see that happen to someone else’s kids,” she said. “Parents need to be aware that it can be a possibility — that they need to check their children’s bag.”
