Area fire companies get a lift from state

The following local fire companies and EMS providers have received grants through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program.


According to the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, the grant is administered through their office and is available annually.


• Allegheny County Airport Authority Fire Rescue – $15,000

• Carnegie Volunteer Fire and Rescue – $11,861.25

• Coraopolis Fire Department – $13,580.66

• Crafton Volunteer Fire Department – $15,000

• Kennedy Township Ind. Volunteer Fire Company – $14,071.92

• Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company – $14,418

• Neville Island General Volunteer Fire Department – $13,089.40

• Presston Independent Hose Company No. 5 – $12,352.51

• Robinson Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 – $14,071.92

• Robinson - Moon Run Volunteer Fire – $15,000

• Robinson - Forest Grove Volunteer Fire – $15,000

• Robinson Emergency Medical Services – $10,000

• Stowe Township Volunteer Fire Department – $13,335.03

• Valley Ambulance Authority – $10,000
