Coraopolis Shade Tree Commission gets $500 boost to budget
Coraopolis Borough Council voted unanimously at the November workshop meeting to increase the Shade Tree Commission Budget by $500.
Originally the budget was set at $1,500, but Council Member Edward Pitassi said the majority of the budget was used to get the group’s truck inspected and to fix it up to meet inspection standards which was $1,300.
“Everything’s going up. We can’t afford maintenance on the truck,” Pitassi said.
Since the truck isn’t normally used between December and April, and has been turning out to be a bit of a financial drain, the council decided to try and sell the 2003 F-550 Ford truck.
Recently the Shade Tree Commission sought out new members in order to keep up with watering flowers planted around Coraopolis.
