Work is underway to level the former Forest Grove Elementary School in Robinson five years after its doors closed in 2017.

Construction crews arrived on the scene during the week starting Feb. 14 to begin preparatory dismantling and are expected to soon move onto full-scale demolition work.

New owner Kaclik Builders of Butler County, which bought the school from the Montour School District for $1.1 million in 2021, is expected to turn the site into a neighborhood plan.

A previous $1.7 million deal between Montour and Craft Homes fell through after legal disputes arose from an undisclosed utility right of way.
