Locals 'SPRING' into new season

Spring has certainly sprung as far as our local high school sports teams are concerned. Fall is an afterthought with football complete. Winter has ended as both WPIAL and PIAA boys and girls basketball champions have been crowned.

Now entering the spotlight baseball, softball and volleyball. Much to the delight of area fans, many of the same standout athletes will be in action. Although in a different setting and uniform as it has become more common to see multi-sport athletes.



Graduation always takes its toll on coaches' rosters as the stars from the previous season have departed to begin a new chapter in their lives. New stars will be born, ready, willing and able to fill the void.


Who will be the standout players in their respective sports? Will we have repeat champions on both the local and state levels? Answers to these and many other questions will be known in the weeks ahead.
