Shyanne Rippole resigned her seat as Stowe's second-ward representative on the Sto-Rox school board during the district’s Nov. 19 business meeting.
Rippole, who was first elected to the position in Dec. 2017, declined to comment on her reasons for stepping down.
President Samantha Levitzki-Wright praised her service to the board, and the political spirit she showed by running for office aged 19 while pursuing a degree in education.
“When Shyanne first got on the board you and [Director Tyler Kochirka] were the youngest ever to serve on the board,” Levitzki-Wright said. “I hope you gained a lot from it for your field and I wish you tons of luck.”
